Cancers that arise in the salivary glands, throat, voice box (larynx), nose, sinuses, and mouth are together referred to as head and neck cancers. The majority of malignancies in the head and neck are squamous cell tumours. The wet tissues lining the head and neck are where they start. As the malignancy progresses, the cells may go into deeper tissue. Other malignancies that can arise in the head and neck include oesophagal, brain, and ocular tumours. However, since head and neck cancers and their therapies differ, they are typically not classified as such. The exact form of cancer, its stage (i.e., degree of advancement), your general health, and other variables will all affect the course of treatment for head and neck cancer.
